5 Family-Friendly Activities to try in Regina
So you’ve come to Regina to see the Saskatchewan Roughriders and you have a little extra time in the city. Here are a few ideas to enjoy the summer weather and keep your whole family entertained.
Go to Market
The Regina Farmers’ Market pops up in the downtown City Plaza every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the summer. Along with all the produce you can imagine, there are plenty of local products to sample and – oh yeah – food trucks. A plate of perogies or a pile of poutine makes for a fun mid-morning snack.
What’s SUP?
SUP stands for stand-up paddle boarding. Wander down to Wascana Lake and rent out some paddle boards at the Queen City SUP. Certified instructors can help out first-timers, but it’s best to register ahead to make sure you can get a spot. The Wascana Marina has canoes for rent as well.
Do Some Science
You don’t even need to walk through the doors of the Saskatchewan Science Centre to have a good time. The Science Park is full of cool interactive structures for kids to enjoy. Inside, more exhibits and demonstrations await.
Cool Down with Ice Cream
After a morning outside, a scoop of ice cream will perk you up for the afternoon. Gather at Dessart Sweets on 13th Avenue or Milky Way on Victoria Avenue and pick from dozens of flavours.
