Summer in the City
Saskatchewan’s two major urban centres, Saskatoon and Regina, are vibrant cities that combine a modern energy with that unmistakable prairie hospitality.
Saskatoon’s Riversdale area has undergone a transformation in the last few years, and is now home to numerous cool new restaurants, coffee shops and boutique stores. Relax with a chai or latte at Drift or Collective Coffee. Enjoy lunch at Odd Couple, the Hollows, or take a quick stroll and find a number of other great choices. After an afternoon of shopping for cool finds, enjoy a nightcap at 9 Mile Legacy Brewing Co.
The enduring character of the Broadway area creates its own unique vibe. Broadway mainstays like Calories, Amigos, Outter Limits and Schmatta have been recently joined by newcomers like Leopold’s Tavern and Café Japa Bowl. The Broadway Theater continues to offer a wide variety of quality programming, from concerts to comedy and live theatre.
Regina's downtown has seen a recent influx of amazing new dining and entertainment experiences. Beer Bros., Victoria’s Tavern, Malt City have added new life to downtown. Foodies are attracted to Flip Eatery, The Capitol and others. To add some shopping to your visit downtown check out local shops Stella & Sway Boutique, Mortise & Tenon, and Norwood Clothing Co.
Craft brewing has taken Saskatchewan by storm, and recent additions to the Regina scene include Rebellion Brewing, Malty National and Pile o’ Bones.
Fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders are in for a treat in 2017. They’ll enjoy the greatest in-game experience the CFL has to offer in the brand new, state-of-the-art Mosaic Stadium.
