The permanent exhibits at the Swift Current Museum & Visitor Centre illustrate the connections between human activities and the environment in southwest Saskatchewan from the post-glacial period to present day. A favourite with children and families is the 72 million-year old Tylosaur on display. Temporary exhibits, archives, a gift shop and tourist information centre are also on site. Check out the historic "Stories of Saskatchewan's Southwest" videos on their website or YouTube.
Seasonally, the museum offers guided walking tours of Swift Current's historic downtown and cemetery. Tours are free and attendance can be confirmed though their online booking system. Learn about the Lyric Theatre, York Hotel, the Modern Restaurant and the Imperial Hotel, which is the city's oldest commercial building and business.
