The Western Development Museum - Saskatoon (WDM) showcases the typical Saskatchewan town of the early 1900s, and captures the atmosphere and style of a bustling settlement. With over 20 buildings portraying community life - from the general store overflowing with everything from nails to gingham, to the blacksmith shop ringing with the sound of the hammer striking the anvil, visitors are transported back to a time when the clip clop of horses filled the air. While visiting the museum, be sure to check out the Winning the Prairie Gamble exhibit showing over one hundred years of prairie life, and the Transportation Gallery.
The Boomtown Cafe is a 'working exhibit' with 1910 era decor. This licensed cafe features home-cooked meals and desserts and weekday lunch specials.
The museum offers banquet and catering facilities that can accommodate any large or small function including meetings and workshops, conventions, wedding receptions and more. From a small intimate wedding in the historic St. Peter's Church to national conventions numbering in the hundreds, let the Western Development Museum give your event a unique, old-fashioned twist.
