The park is well maintained and includes horseshoe pits, basketball hoop, tetherball, playground and concession. Water activities include boating and swimming. Pets allowed, but must be on leash.
Annual events at McLaren Lake Regional Park include Canada Day celebrations with children's activities and fireworks, and the 2nd Saturday in July, the park hosts a music festival with a slow-pitch tournament.
