At the Fort Walsh National Historic Site, walk through the wooden gates into a living fort from the 1870s, when the North West Mounted Police brought Canadian law to the West. Hear the stories of the Cypress Hills Massacre and learn of its impact on the Nakoda people and on Canada in southwest Saskatchewan. Test your bartering skills at the trading post and find out the price of a buffalo robe. Walk in the footsteps of James Morrow Walsh and his NWMP troops, discovering how peace was brokered with Sitting Bull in the aftermath of the Battle of Little Big Horn.
