With rolling hills to the south, the South Saskatchewan River valley to the north, and the dry desert of the Great Sandhills to the east, visitors to the community of Leader are given the opportunity to explore some of the most unique landscapes that our province has to offer. While in the community, visit the River Ridge Golf Course, a scenic course overlooking the South Saskatchewan River, for a round of golf; cool off at the modern junior Olympic swimming pool with racer waterslide or check out the local attractions including the Leader Wildlife Sculptures, the Millennium Gardens and Checkerboard Hill.​ Shop local vendors for at Market Day in Leader every Thursday (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) from June to September. The community and surrounding area are is also located along the migratory bird flyway and is a favorite among birdwatchers.
