An active farming community, Star City is located between Melfort and Tisdale just off Hwy 3. It was named in honour of two of the first settlers in the area, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Starkey who homesteaded in the area in 1899 and operated a post office and small store out of their log home. The community offers a wide variety of services and recreational facilities and has many active service clubs and organizations to satisfy everyone's needs.
