Extreme Adventures

Based out of Regina, Fresh Trails Mountain Bike Skills offers mountain bike lessons to riders at the beginner level through to the more experienced level. The customized lessons, delivered by a Certified Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBI), provide riders with the ability to ride with more confidence, style and flow.
Lessons are available at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park with prior reservation, and they can also be offered in other locations throughout the province. Phone or email for locations and bookings. Lessons and season dates dependent on weather and trail conditions. Fresh Trails Mountain Bike Skills is not permanently located directly onsite at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park; prior notice required.

Public Trails, Trans Canada Trail

Nicolle Flats Nature Area features interpretive hiking and mountain biking trails with breathtaking views and outstanding bird and wildlife watching opportunities. In the winter, the trails are groomed for cross-country skiing.
The nature area features several trails, including the Valley Trail (roughly 1 km), the Nicolle Flats Trail (3 km each way), the Valley Interpretive Trail (1.5 km), the Dyke Trail/Trans Canada Trail (8 km) and the Bison View Interpretive Trail (2.9 km). Nicolle Flats Marsh Boardwalk Interpretive Trail is currently closed.
The park has partnered with local mountain bike clubs including Moose Jaw Pavers to maintain an extensive 30 km network of mountain biking and fat biking trails. Several national and provincial mountain bike races, including the Canada Cup have been held here. Trails on the south side of Buffalo Pound Lake include the Terminator, Joe's, White Track and the Barrels. A short stretch on pavement brings you to the trail circling Nicolle Flats and heading northwest to the North Shore Trail.

Retail Store, Restaurant and Dining

Be sure to stop by Lakeside Foods' convenience store and concession stand when visiting Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. The store location carries groceries, children's toys, soft serve and hard ice cream, a small fast food menu and more. Laundry facility is also on site. Store hosts Movie Night every Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. and a Saturday morning market featuring fresh produce, baking and crafts.
Concession stand offers a fast food menu, delicious ice cream treats and cold drinks.
