250 sq km conservation area located N of Hwy 16 between the towns of Wynyard, Wadena and Foam Lake.

A globally important bird area and a Saskatchewan Birding Trail anchor site, the Quill Lakes International Bird Area features Canada's largest saline lake and endangered species. Highlights of the area include: over one million waterfowl, shorebirds and songbirds, numerous viewing areas with trails, two nature centres and a large interpretive centre with theatre.
The Quill Lakes Interpretive Centre in Wynyard features information on the area and the bird species that can be found there. Maps and tourism brochures are available.
The Foam Lake Visitor Centre & Nature Centre has tourist information, campsites, a golf driving range, heritage home, nature and walking trails and interpretive nature displays.
