Step back in time at the Frenchman Butte Heritage Centre and enjoy a “tour and a tea!” There is something for everyone! Featuring large collections of area artifacts that span from the river highway, Carlton Trail, settlers' life, the Battle of 1885, the First and Second World Wars and more, the Centre's knowledgeable tour guides await to educate and guide you. With nine buildings packed with history, you will visit the CNR Railway Station, Lloyd Furman building, Leer Log home (built with upright logs), Blacksmith Shop, Big Hill School, Library and a new phase located in the Machine Quonset. Museum staff are quite excited about the new phases which include a Transportation Room and General Store that will bring back memories for some and intrigue others who get to see how shopping was done back in the day! For first timers and frequent visitors, these new spaces are sure to please. The Centre also features one of the largest salt and pepper collections in Saskatchewan. You will also delight in what the Log Cabin Tea House offers with delicious treats and hot drinks served in fine china thus making the perfect ending to a most memorable tour of the Frenchman Butte Heritage Centre.

Guided tours to the nearby historic Frenchman Butte Rifle Pits and Fort Pitt can also be arranged. A “must-do" event is the Annual Frenchman Butte Museum Festival held Sunday, August 11, 2024. It is always a fun-filled day for families and all ages, and has become a family reunion time for many. Be sure to mark your calendar and check the Centre's website for updates prior to attending.
